Riding for the Disabled Association in the Forest of Dean.

Welcome to The Forest RDA Website.

Established in 1989,  Forest RDA offers riding lessons to all local disabled children and adults who feel they can benefit from being on a horse or pony. We now do weekly term-time sessions from the Severnvale Equestrian Centre, Chepstow.

We are members of the National RDA, Stoneleigh and work under their guidance.  All our volunteers are trained to a high standard and the group is assessed each year by the National RDA.

RDA takes place on Thursdays from 1 till 4 pm at Severnvale Equestrian Centre between Lydney and Chepstow. Even if you can only manage an hour or two we would be very grateful if you could volunteer. We are especially looking for someone to take care of our fundraising activities.

We also have a Forest RDA carriage riding group click here for further details

Fundraising there are many ways to help fund our activity one is Easyfunding to find out more visit our fundraising page

RDA Natiomnal Finals Hartpury 208

Helen did a lovely dressage test on Toby. She felt it was the best test they had ever done together. helen came 4th, deservedly so, in ‘The Best Turned Out’..  Freya did fantastically well. She lost her way briefly in the Countryside Challenge, but came equal 11th. She did remarkably well in her Dressage Test, achieving 63.33%. In her words, she “nailed it”, and proclaimed the whole experience  to be “ the best day ever”. . Imogen also did remarkably well. This year she stepped up a grade, and was extremely aware that the competition was going to be much harder for her.  She came equal 8th in the Countryside Challenge. She also did really well in her Dressage test. They achieved 60.83%. Debbie once again brought the wonderful, well behaved SVEC equines to Hartpury and helped and supported us all day. A really special Thank You to you, and everyone at SVEC. We couldn’t do it without your help and support, nor would we be celebrating so much success. A special Thank you, to the volunteers who came to help Thank you to all those who managed to come to Hartpury as supporters. One steward commented how wonderful for us having such a large support group. Forest RDA is a real team, and everyone in that team contributes, all the time, to these successful occasions.
